Has it really been five months since I last made a journal entry? Jesus Christ. Time flies.
I have been mostly chipping away at commission work, with a brief break during Artfight. I was on team Fossil, which was the losing team this year. I've only been on a winning team once lol... Despite that I made some art I'm pretty proud of, which you can check out by clicking here. I didn't get as many attacks done as I wanted, but one piece was a fairly large mass attack with a fleshed out bg, so it didn't feel like a total wash.
I may create a page for my commissioned works eventually. It'll probably be another shrine-type design since I really like making those. There's just more stuff I want/need to do before I can make it. You'll understand when you see it. I hate to make another shrine when I've already got two that feel half-finished but finishing them requires an amount of work I can't put aside right now. Also with massive tariffs I think my ability to collect Digimon V-Pets is coming to an end. It's too damn expensive to import them.
I've been avoiding writing entries because they would all be be me screaming and bashing my head against the wall about the state of the world for a whole paragraph and then going "Well anyway-". I don't think anyone wants to read that. Even if these are supposed to be for me, it would just be a drag to look back on. That's what the IRL journal is for.
So why am I writing an entry now? Because I got a new job babey!!! Words can't even describe how elated I am to have gotten it. I've been on the hunt since January this year, and fully expected to be back in retail upselling shitty memberships and getting yelled at by customers. Instead I won the freaking job lottery. It's been two weeks since I started and it still doesn't feel real. Thank you whatever divine beings were looking out for me. I'm not going to say what the job is or what it entails, just know it's a good one. It's given me a sense of purpose and hope that I was sorely missing in my life.

I also bought a device to let me rip ROMs of old GB/C/A games to my computer, so I've been playing some oldschool stuff. Mostly Hamtaro: Ham Ham Heartbreak and Dragon Warrior Monsters 2. Really enjoying them (epsecially DWM2) now that I'm older and understand how the mechanics work. I don't have any endgame monsters in mind, but I'm hoping I can breed my Phoenix and Blizzardy egg together eventually. The personality system is the worst part of this game these bitches never change and if they do I haven't seen it so fighting level 1 Spotslimes 100x times doesn't feel worth it. Whatever! At least it's fun. And the emulator I'm using has a fast forward button so grinding is less tedious.
I love the pixel art in Dragon Warrior Monsters so I might make a mini shrine devoted to it someday. I keep giving myself way too much to do lol!! Oh well, maybe it'll mean the website gets updated more frequently. See you around.
